ok apologies i haven't much time/energy to deal with this one, so am asking a huge favour / volunteer to recreate the prototype bumper sticker that i put together. ideally it should be an SVG. this is from chris:
I've used this site for bumper stickers before and liked them (the people behind it have a freedom-oriented slant too which is neat):
https://thebumpersticker.com/shop/stickers/vinyl-stickers/
I would suggest the following:
Material: White Vinyl Shape: Rectangle Height: 3 inches Width: 9 inches
now, i'd very much like to add some words at the top just above the main image: "It's R/Evolution, baby" or something equally ridiculous. any suggestions welcome - the more ridiculous or cheesy the better. nothing crude or derogatory!

straight from the crowdfunding page. creative commons (same variant as used for elinux.org) would be great. https://www.crowdsupply.com/eoma68/micro-desktop/updates/merchandise
Hi all,
first post to the list, and as first thing I wanted to thank you Luke for the incredible job you are doing with the EOMA68.
I've found this vector Darwin fish which can be modified.
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/65/Darwin_Fish_01.
I tried to create an svg, the file is attached. (hoping that it is not removed by the mailman,
It is not a pixel perfect copy of the original design, but the idea is the same.
What do you think? Should it be changed somehow? Do you need the external thin border of the fish?

ah totally cool! no it looks great.
my feeling is that the letters should be made a little straighter (so each one's size is altered so that they fit within the limit of the oval) - the fish-eye distortion is a little weird otherwise.
l.
I've straightened the letters, and it looks better now.
I'm available to change it again, even multiple times =) , the only limit is my proficency with inkscape, so don't worry in pointing out other issues and asking them to be fixed.

Hi,
I updated the logo with a 3rd style stretching only the letters.
The file is becoming too big for the list and I've created a github repository on it.
https://github.com/ykmm/eoma68sticker/blob/master/EOMA68-sticker.svg
Let me know if they look somehow good.

Just to tick people off (not really)... as an artist, the middle one is my favorite.
I've added a variation on the straight lines (v4) by manually adapting the letters tops and bottoms to follow the internal ellipse.
The new version has been commited in github but It is now too small to be seen properly online, it is better viewed locally.

...still rooting for v2. Eliminating (more or less) the white space between fish outline and letters makes it less readable.

I also like v2 more than the others. My only quibble is the E touching the outline of the fish. Other than that, I think it is the best looking one.

there's far too much distortion of the letters, the O for example is crushed on the left hand side.
louis could you stack them vertically instead of horizontally, it's hard to see them as they're getting very small.
v4, the E is great. the 8 i think needs to be smaller, bolder, and kept a little bit further away from the top/bottom. the gap on v1/v2 and the font weight on v1/v2 is about right: the gap for E and 8 on v4 are both too small.
l.
I will try to refine v4 following your instructions.
I think I'll leave v2 to Orson
@orson, if you want I can give you commit access to the repository so that we can work on a single repo.

ack. i'll have a go later as well, based on the v3: it's really tricky! close inspection of v4 the number 8 is very very squashed. i think "gimp" can do trapezoidal reshaping which might do the trick.
l.
I'v shown the logo to a friend of mine who does graphic design, he prefers v3 and gave me the following remarks which I find insightful:
- It's the one that is best viewed even if it is reduced a lot - Straight lines are better for a hardware logo where precision, clarity and clean design are paramount.
However I'll try to fix a little v4.1 this evening.

Sorry for the late reply, but life/work stuff had to be done.
I have managed to get a v4.2 where lines are straight, and the rounded shape deformations are much better.
It can be seen here https://github.com/ykmm/eoma68sticker/blob/master/EOMA68-sticker.svg
Personally I like both v3 and v4.2

straight from the crowdfunding page. creative commons (same variant as used for elinux.org) would be great. https://www.crowdsupply.com/eoma68/micro-desktop/updates/merchandise
Hi all, Just a thought while looking at the linked page. I didn't pay attention to the fact that the mechandises have two different spellings of EOMA68 : "EOMA68" and "EOMA-68". Shouln't it be changed in order to get the things clearer?
