Sorry but I have to challenge you on this, it isn't right for systemd to be the only init that can be used on debian by default.
This doesn't make any sense. The default is what it is, a single option from a set of options that is the default one. There can only be one default. Not all sets of options can be selected on setup otherwise installing Debian would take longer than compiling gentoo.
Yes that didn't make sense my bad. I meant it shouldn't be the only one usable on debian.
Systemd is apparently just the default option. And my problem is, people like you seem to believe that debian is some sort of organization that decides for the shake of their users. Wrong. Debian is a community first, if users want something, they can add it. There are alternative inits available but apparently nobody cares enough to maintain and script them. Which begs the question, why are systemd haters so vocal but do nothing about it ? It seems like those who actually did the work scripting for inits chose to work for systemd only, and now it's just a bunch of people who demand stuff without offering anything in return( i.e. work).
Openrc and Runit are better. In my humble opinion. again I am not anti-systemd I am for choice.
