Not sure about the list orginal intent, but these are issues that come up when you take certain arm SOCs and use them for a netbook, and look for free software support for the hardware so I'd say it is on topic. I assume most people here are interested in how to solve these issues, or what the status is while they are solved, or what kind of issues to expect in future projects...
At least for me it's been a very instructive discussion to read so far. IRC might be faster or more confortable for you, so fell free to use it but my vote is for welcoming you to talk about this here and thank you for teaching us. You don't get this kind of knowledge when you buy a wintel laptop.
