Is it right, that the CM108AH USB Audio with stereo headphone socket is part of the laptop-hardware and not of the eoma68? developer advantages of EOMA68

Why are EOMA68 computer cards useful to the current rash of devops guys? When a developer bangs out business-level services, the fine detail of boot loaders, CPU packages, device drivers and power consumption is taken for granted. The dev probably checks the kernel is new, and that’s about it. Or is that unfair? For starters, I’m thinking: You carry your development environment with you. No database sync, no remote cloud access, no leaving a sensitive computer in the organization. It’s not a killer advantage - since BYOD became a thing, this is already happening for a lot of laptop-carrying people. It’s local hardware, not remote virtual machines. It may be a good fit with running containers, which means continuous deployment, configuration management, and all that microservice lifecycle stuff. If you want to get less commercial and more R&D, you could replace Docker with Xen and unikernels. I’m also thinking, basically, any software development that can be done on a Cubietruck, can be done on an EOMA68. Similar specs, similar OS support, and so on. What am I missing?

In the latest update of its crowdfunding campaign one can see, that the sugar os is running on the EOMA68-card. On the fsfe-fe mailing list is happening a discussion, in which people say, the A20 has not enough power for serious working with libreoffice or surfing or looking videos. Is it possible, to produce a video, which shows the speed, with which this is possible? Or are their other ways to prove, that this is wrong. Future CPU cards

Not wanting to revisit the discussion about the A20 but, instead, think about other processors that might perform better in the comparison table on this page: http://rhombus-tech.net/crowdsupply/ I have no idea if it's even reasonable to discuss these as possible options, so don't all jump on me at once. :-) For example, the i.MX 6UltraLite could be interesting because it doesn't, as far as I can tell, contain a GPU: https://www.nxp.com/iMX6UltraLite I suppose some might think of it as the runt of the i.MX6 litter for that reason. ;-) Some of the other processor families seem to be quite frugal with regards to power consumption, and can still support reasonable display resolutions. Polishing keyboard support

Hi Luke and all, I am polishing a new push for keyboard, mainly adding support for modifiers (ctrl, shift, alt, GUI) -- this makes the keyboard fully useable under any reasonable OS. While I was at it, I ran a full check on my AZERTY keyboard's layout, and found two keys in its matrix which the EC SW maps to 0x00 ('no key') in the current code. Namely: row 1, column 5: keypad "+" row f, column 4: keyboard "DEL" Keypad "+" is present in the SW matrix, but at row 1, column 1 (which on my keyboard maps to no key). Keyboard "DEL" does not seem to be mapped in the SW matrix. Luke, could you check the QWERTY keyboard matrix position for those two keys? I'd like to make sure whether we can use the same SW matrix for both keyboards or whether we need two. Amicalement, -- Albert.
