Block Diagram - ZEOMA - Handheld Games Console

Hello everyone. I suppose many of you know the handheld games console project based on EOMA68 (the provisional name is ZEOMA). The website (it is outdated (the images are also outdated), when the project is more advanced I'll update) (thanks to Peter Bouda) is: http://www.ubrew.it/ The features of the console are: - 4.5 inch 480x854 IPS screen. - Resistive touch panel. - DPad + A B X Y buttons + R button + L button + 2 Analog triggers + 2 Analog Joystick (with push button) + Start + Select + Home + Vol +/- + 2 extra buttons. - 4000 mAh battery. - Stereo. - MicroSD slot. - USB 2.0 Host. - MicroUSB (for charging). - STM32F072 for controls. - AR9271 WIFI. i've met with zhongweisemi (nexell's authorised agent in shenzen), really nice people, i've got access to the s5p6818 and am doing a conversion of one of their reference designs to eoma68. this board will ***NOT*** be available as a replacement for eoma68-a20 crowd-funded pledges, the pricing and MOQs had been set and may not be renegotiated without significant loss of future business due to an obviously adverse impact (reneging on promised orders). l.

Some Pine64 Experiences (via Planet Debian)

Hello, I saw this on Planet Debian today: "Once more this is where, once again, the story turns bleak. We find a very pretty website but no obvious link to the software (hint scroll to the bottom and find the "support" wiki link) once you find the wiki you will eventually discover that the provided software is either an Android 5.1.1 image (which failed to start on my board) or relies on some random guy from the forums who has put together his own OS images using a hacked up Allwinner Board Support Package (BSP) kernel." http://vincentsanders.blogspot.com/2016/10/the-pine-stays-green-in-winter- wisdom.html I wonder what the licence compliance situation is with the vendor's own software. And some of the other experiences, particularly involving reliability, give a depressing sense of déjà vu to anyone with any moderate amount of experience with ambitious single-board computer efforts where the vendor shipped hardware without proper software support, arguably to get "bottoms on seats" and to drum up business. The author also makes some pertinent remarks about form-factor proliferation which seems appropriate to mention here, too. :-) Paul

routing vpns over ssh

i can't quite believe that i'm having to route my vpn access over an ssh tunnel in order to then put HTTP proxy over the VPN in order to get frickin internet access to my email and anything at all. the IP address of my server has been blocked *not* by the china government but by the cisco equipment where i'm currently located... ... which is in the lobby of allwinner's headquarters in zhuhai :) well done cisco! :)

Future case idea: subnotebook/PDA with QWERTY keyboard

It would be great to have a housing for the EOMA68 that is of a similar form factor to one of these devices: - DragonBox Pyra [1] - Openbox Pandora [2] - HTC Universal [3] or even: - HTC Dream [4] That is, an enclosure that can fit in a pocket, and has: - Hardware QWERTY keyboard - Touchscreen (resistive, ideally) that opens out from the keyboard - TRRS audio I/O - USB OTG Something like a miniature tablet PC, essentially. Bonus points if it is also "ruggedized": waterproof, shockproof, etc. Likewise if it incorporates a trackpoint or similar, for using the mouse cursor without needing to touch the screen.[5] Goes without saying that it should be licensed as a Free Cultural Work[6], i.e. under GPLv3 or suchlike. Why would it be great? Well, traditionally, people using a PDA had to synchronise their information between their desktop or laptop and the PDA, e.g. via a cable or IrDA[7] or Bluetooth. Now lots of people do this via "the cloud", but that just means going via someone else's computers, so unless that system is implemented on a zero-knowledge basis using client-side encryption basis, then whoever else's computers are being used also gets to see the information. That might be really private stuff, like contacts and appointments and correspondence. With EOMA68, that problem would be solved: while out and about where a laptop would be too bulky but a PDA wouldn't, just have the EOMA68 card in the PDA housing. When at a desk, put it in the desktop or laptop housing. No need to sync! That means: - No loss of privacy - Less need for energy-intensive data centres - No need to have two computers when one would do (less e-waste) - No worries about race conditions due to data getting updated on desktop and PDA before syncing. - No headaches, essentially! C++ features

Hi. I'm making a C++ game engine and interested in supporting the A20 board. I wonder what features are available there. What's the gcc/g++ version? Is there a std::uint64_t type defined? Can it do 64 bit floating point?
